Thanks for posting this Hogger. It will be fun to stay posted with his updates.
Just a quick question though, take a look at the trucks on the GP9's. I would have to do a little research but I know many CN GP9's had flexicoil trucks and I am wondering if the units he modeled in real life had them or the standard EMD bloomberg trucks?
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

There were some CN Geeps equipped with flexicoils.
I can't remember the reason for ordering them that way off the top of my head, but I want to say it had something to do with branchline passenger service.

That is an amazing layout. I can only imagine how much action they could fit into the space if they had gone HO... Or N for that matter! It's layouts like these that make me wish I had my own layout

You are correct, CRJon. As you recall CN operated many branch lines with light rail so they ordered many GP9's with flexicoil trucks, smaller fuel tanks, and no ballast.
GTW had their own version of a lightened version of the GP9 and it was their 4134-4138 series. 4139 is actuall former 454? that was wrecked and rebuilt and therefore a heavier version.

That is just incredible!! Someone apparently has done well for themselves to make that kind of layout investment....I woould think gotta be near $100k just for the building before putting the first stick of layout in it. An amazing project! Looking forward to see it progress further, thanks for sharing for the link, Hogger.
